CURR 501 Blog 1: A Little Bit About TheTammyG

 Hey everyone,

I'm Tamera, currently and After School (Afterzone) Site Coordinator at a Providence Public Middle School. Growing up, I always wanted to be a teacher. I loved to learn and was always excited about learning and when I grew up I knew that I wanted to be a teacher and make students just as excited to learn as my teachers made me! However, as I got older, I realized that learning doesn't necessarily have to take place in a classroom in fact, at least for me, some of my most funniest and most genuine joyful times learning weren't in in the classroom. Doing extracurriculars like softball and chorus in high school not only broke me out of my shy shell but doing two activities at the the same time that were so different taught me a lot about myself! Being able to interact with my peers was also a great way for me to learn to as we all learned from each other!

This summer has been a little hectic so far for me but whenever I start feeling anxious I start playing one of my "Cheer Me Up" songs from my "Cheer Me Up" playlist and that seems to do the trick! Currently trying to enjoy summer as much as I can while trying to get things
in order for summer camp provided by my job, going to do some advertising here, so if you'd like to check out My Job here it is! If yall have any middle school students that would be interested in a fun outdoors summer camp feel free to send them our way as well our flyer is here. Looking forward to getting to know you all as the days go on!
